Hybrid crankshaft control: reduction of torsional vibrations and rotational irregularities
Internal combustion engines are affected by several vibratory issues. Among them, the torsional vibrations and rotational irregularities are some of the most detrimental, as they reduce the operating lifespan of the mechanical parts of the engine and produce noise in the driveline. The present thesis aims to mitigate both phenomena at once, through the development of a model reproducing the dynamic behavior of a hybrid coupled damper, the associated control laws and a demonstrator of such a damper.
