POP' SCIENCES

Every two years, the Pop'Sciences Festival, organised by the University of Lyon and all its establishments, takes place in the heart of the city, offering to bring together a wide public around science's answers to the questions and issues facing society.

During these two days, knowledge is disseminated, science is debated and meetings take place between the world of research and the inhabitants in formats that favour exchange and discussion.
This event is free and open to all.

POP SCIENCE FESTIVAL 2019: IT WAS BETTER BEFORE!? IT WILL BE BETTER TOMORROW !?

The Pop'Sciences 2019 Festival Pop'Sciences took place on 17 and 18 May in the heart of La Duchère, on the market square. The district became the time of these 2 days, a real open-air research laboratory!

With 1,800 visitors for the 2019 edition, the challenge of bringing science closer to the citizens has been met.

Visitors were able to meet researchers, experiment, play and debate on scientific advances and science's responses to societal challenges. 150 researchers, as well as 80 mediators and associative and educational players, took over the district to debate with the public about the choices that our societies have to make for the future between what is possible and what is desirable.
