IRP Summer School Centre Acoustique Jacques Cartier

From June 12, 2023 to June 16, 2023

Jouvence Center Orford and  Sherbrooke University

The first edition of the IRP Centre Acoustique Jacques Cartier summer school was held from 12 to 16 June 2023 at the Centre Jouvence in Orford and the Université de Sherbrooke. The themes of this school were "Imaging, control and field synthesis in vibroacoustics". The detailed programme included lectures, practical work, workshops, presentations by participants, visits (CRASH-UdeS and Mecanum) and team-building activities. In addition to academic support (CNRS via IRP and the University of Sherbrooke), two North American companies, Mecanum and HBK, have supported the event.

28 participants attended the courses given by 10 IRP research professors.
It should be noted that all IRP laboratories were represented (LAUM, LMFA, LTDS, LVA), both in terms of participants and teaching staff.
The school also welcomed participants from outside IRP, from Canadian, French and Swiss laboratories.

The participants greatly appreciated the quality and level of the courses given, as well as the organisation of the school. They were able to develop their network by adding academic and industrial contacts. A questionnaire will be sent out shortly to obtain more detailed feedback.
Participants were assessed by MCQs given at the end of the first 3 days, which will entitle them to 3 credits from the Quebec university system if they pass.

On the strength of this success, the members of the IRP Jacques Cartier are planning to organise a second edition in 2024 on the theme of aeroacoustics. See you in 2024!
